Softball Recap: Siegel Takes a Loss

Siegel extended their losing streak to six on Tuesday, dropping their season record down to 8-10-1 in the process. They lost 13-2 to the Oakland Patriots. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Stars have suffered against the Patriots since May 9, 2022.

Auburn Karls was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-2 with one home run.

As for Oakland, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 14 of their last 17 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-4-2 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.7 runs over those games.

On Oakland's side, Jazmyne Watkins was a standout: she got on base in three of her four plate appearances with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. That's the most stolen bases Watkins has posted since back in March. Jada Ellison was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three stolen bases and three runs.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Siegel will square off against Gordonsville at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Oakland, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Rockvale at 6:30 p.m.
