Baseball Recap: Wolfe City Drops Highest Score of Season Against Cooper

Wolfe City scored the most runs they've had this season on Friday, but it wasn't enough. They fell just short of the Cooper Bulldogs by a score of 10-9. The Wolves have struggled against the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost meeting.

Nick Nowak was cooking despite his team's loss, going 3-for-5 with two RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Daniel Garcia, who scored two runs while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.

Wolfe City now has a losing record of 4-5. As for Cooper, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Wolfe City will face off against North Hopkins at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. North Hopkins will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something Wolfe City surely won't give up without a fight. As for Cooper, they will be playing at home against Celeste at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Celeste's pitching crew has only allowed 3.3 runs per game this season, so Cooper's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
