Basketball Recap: Michigan Collegiate Comes Up Short

Michigan Collegiate suffered their biggest loss since January 15th on Friday. They were outmatched by the Lutheran Northwest Crusaders and fell 64-32. While losing is never fun, the Cougars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 340th, while the Crusaders are ranked 135th).

Michigan Collegiate's defeat ended an eight-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 14-8. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 26.6 points on average over those games. As for Lutheran Northwest, they are on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 17 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-7 record this season.

Michigan Collegiate does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Lutheran Northwest, they will take on Durand in a tournament on Monday. Durand will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Lutheran Northwest surely won't give up without a fight.
