Softball Recap: Pine River-Backus Takes a Loss

Wednesday just wasn't the day for Pine River-Backus's offense. They took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bagley Flyers on Wednesday. The Tigers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Flyers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Pine River-Backus now has a losing record of 5-6. As for Bagley, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 3-3.

Coming up, Pine River-Backus will welcome Lake of the Woods at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Bears will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Tigers surely won't give up without a fight. As for Bagley, they are taking a road trip to square off against Cass Lake-Bena at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Flyers are facing the Panthers at the right time seeing as the Panthers are stuck on a four-game losing streak.
