The Bishop O'Connell Knights will venture away from home to face off against the DeMatha Stags at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
DeMatha will challenge a team with plenty of momentum: Bishop O'Connell extended their winning streak to five on Friday. The Knights beat Bishop McNamara by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 10-1.
Robert Kilpatrick looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Bryant James was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, two runs, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high. Walker McElwain also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.
Bishop O'Connell always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .531. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive games.
Meanwhile, after only two runs in their last contest, DeMatha made sure to put some runs up on the board against The Heights on Thursday. The Stags put the hurt on The Heights with a sharp 13-6 victory.
Jackson Steuart looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched.
At the plate, Blake Wentworth and Zach Perlin did most of the damage at the plate: Wentworth got on base in three of his five plate appearances with three stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI, while Perlin got on base in four of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Ben Brown, who went 3-for-5 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double.
Bishop O'Connell's record now sits at 18-5. As for DeMatha, their record is now 14-8.
Bishop O'Connell was able to grind out a solid win over DeMatha in their previous meeting back in March, winning 7-4. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Knights since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
