Basketball Game Preview: Clifton-Clyde Eagles vs. Hanover Wildcats

The Clifton-Clyde Eagles will face off against the Hanover Wildcats on Tuesday. Clifton-Clyde is coming into the game hot, having won their last six games.

Last Friday, Clifton-Clyde strolled past Doniphan West with points to spare, taking the game 55-40. Given the Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 123rd, while the Mustangs are ranked 294th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Hanover came up short against Axtell on Friday and fell 69-57. The Wildcats have struggled against the Eagles recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.

Clifton-Clyde's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-5-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.0 points over those games. As for Hanover, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-5.

Clifton-Clyde came up short against Hanover in their previous matchup back in January, falling 58-48. Can Clifton-Clyde avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
