Softball Recap: Permian Victorious

Socorro typically has all the answers at home, but on Friday Permian proved too difficult a challenge. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 9-7 win over the Bulldogs. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Panthers have posted since April 26, 2025.

Permian's win bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Socorro, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 11-1.

Coming up, Permian will venture away from home to challenge Pebble Hills at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Panthers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Spartans have averaged an impressive 7.4 runs per game this season. As for Socorro, they will look to defend their home field on Saturday against Pampa at 9:00 a.m. The Bulldogs are facing the Harvesters at the right time seeing as the Harvesters are stuck on a four-game losing streak.
