Salvador Lopez was a major factor no matter where he played. He struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). What's more, he also gave up only one walk, the fewest he's had since back in March of 2024. He was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in runs.
In other batting news, Adam Enriquez and Alejandro Gutierrez did most of the damage at the plate: Enriquez went a perfect2-for-2 with three stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs, while Gutierrez scored four runs and stole four bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Axel Serrano, who scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.
Meanwhile, everything went Wiseburn- Da Vinci's way against Lennox Academy on Monday as Wiseburn- Da Vinci made off with a 17-3 win.
Like Animo Leadership, Wiseburn- Da Vinci also got a great game from a two-way player: Thomas Carpenter. On the mound, Carpenter struck out six batters over two innings while giving up just one earned run but no hits. Meanwhile, Edward Sanchez pitched two innings while giving up just one earned run but no hits. At the plate, Carpenter scored two runs while going 2-for-5, while Sanchez scored two runs while going 1-for-4.
In other batting news, Wiseburn- Da Vinci got a massive performance out of James Mara, who went a perfect4-for-4 with three stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI. Victor Marceletti was another key player, scoring four runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4.
Animo Leadership might still be hurting after the 16-1 loss they got from Wiseburn- Da Vinci when the teams last played back in March of 2024. Can Animo Leadership avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
