Volleyball Recap: Mountain View Falls Short of Torrington in the Playoffs

Mountain View and Torrington squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Mountain View had to settle for second. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Trailblazers.

Despite the defeat, Mountain View had strong showings from Hannah Walker, who had 12 digs and three assists, and Addyson Stephens, who had 21 kills, 16 digs, and two aces. Stephens has been hot for a while, having posted five or more kills the last 28 times she's played.

Leading Torrington to victory were Grace Kelly and Trishell Pontarolo. Kelly had 14 digs and two assists, while Pontarolo had eight digs and two aces. That's the most digs Pontarolo has posted since back in October.

Mountain View's loss dropped their record down to 24-14-1. As for Torrington, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 18-13-2 record this season.

Mountain View has already played their next match, a 3-0 victory against Wheatland on the 7th. As for Torrington, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 defeat against Cody on the 7th.
