Baseball Recap: Caldwell County Has No Trouble Against Todd County Central

Caldwell County never let their opponents score on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Todd County Central Rebels as they made off with an 8-0 win. Considering the Tigers have won 11 contests by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Channing Puckett made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out ten over six innings pitched. Those ten strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double.

In other batting news, Collin Whittington was excellent, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two RBI, one run, and one double. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high.

The victory made it two in a row for Caldwell County and bumps their season record up to 19-4. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 1 runs in those games. As for Todd County Central, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 11-9 record.

Looking ahead, Caldwell County will head out on the road to square off against Trigg County at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Todd County Central, they will be playing at home against Hopkins County Central at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
