Basketball Game Preview: Marble Falls Mustangs vs. Lampasas Badgers

The Marble Falls Mustangs will venture away from home to square off against the Lampasas Badgers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.

Last Friday, Marble Falls was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 44-40 to Jarrell. The Mustangs haven't had much luck with the Cougars recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.

Meanwhile, Lampasas waltzed into their contest on Wednesday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They came out on top against the Ducks by a score of 72-61.

Lampasas is also on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 20-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.3 points per game. As for Marble Falls, their loss ended a six-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 14-9.

Marble Falls didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Lampasas in their previous meeting on January 7th, but they still walked away with a 61-56 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Marble Falls since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
