Baseball Recap: Southwestern Comes Up Short

Southwestern started off well but failed to capitalize on an early lead against North Decatur. They took a 6-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Chargers on Thursday. The Spartans were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Chargers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

Southwestern saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Isaac Bunch, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base.

This is the second loss in a row for Southwestern and nudges their season record down to 6-6. As for North Decatur, they now have a winning record of 9-8.

While Southwestern had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
