Basketball Game Preview: Enka Jets vs. A.C. Reynolds Rockets

Enka is 2-8 against A.C. Reynolds since December of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Enka Jets will square off against the A.C. Reynolds Rockets at 7:30 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Enka is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against Mitchell last Monday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Enka came up short against Mitchell, falling 78-53. The Jets were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 49-26.

Despite the loss, Enka had strong showings from Lawson Mcclure, who posted nine points and three steals, and Hyatt Middleton, who had seven points. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaiah Phillips, who put up five points.

Meanwhile, A.C. Reynolds was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 70-60 to Watauga. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game two weeks ago (59), the Rockets still had to take the loss.

A.C. Reynolds' loss dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Enka, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-6.

Enka might still be hurting after the 78-53 loss they got from A.C. Reynolds when the teams last played back in January of 2024. Can Enka avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
