Soccer Game Preview: Richmond vs. Union Pines

Richmond hasn't had much luck against Union Pines recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Raiders will be playing at home against the Vikings at 7:00 p.m. After the two teams made easy work of their previous opponents, one won't be so lucky on Tuesday.

Richmond took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. Their defense stepped up to hand Hoke County a 4-0 shutout. Considering Richmond's offense had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Meanwhile, Union Pines came tearing into Friday's matchup with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 2.7 goals), and they left with even more momentum. Everything went their way against the Fighting Scots as they made off with a 13-0 win. The result was nothing new for Union Pines, who have now won seven contests by three goals or more so far this season.

The victory was their first at home , bumping their record up to 6-8-1. As for Union Pines, their win was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-3-1.
