Football Recap: Fredonia Hillbillies vs. Amherst Central Tigers
Fredonia had to kick off their season on the road on Tuesday, but they showed no ill effects. They were the clear victors by a 31-6 margin over the Amherst Central Tigers. The Hillbillies' offense checked out after the first half but had enough points banked to take the game anyway.
Fredonia found their leader in freshman Sophia Utegg, who threw for 169 yards and three touchdowns, and also rushed for 40 yards and one TD. A healthy portion of Utegg's aerial production (84 yards to be exact) went to Elizabeth Morris, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.
Fredonia didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Mikaela Sciarrino and Juliana Snyder.
Fredonia has already played their next game (against Depew), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Amherst Central does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
