Volleyball Recap: White Oak Comes Up Short

White Oak was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They came up short against D.H. Conley, falling 3-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against D.H. Conley this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 on September 9th.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-7, 25-8, 25-9.

Alyssa Carkhuff paced White Oak's offense, picking up five kills. Carkhuff got some help from Mariah Reeves and her eight assists. Brianna Sherman controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

White Oak's loss dropped their record down to 5-9. As for D.H. Conley, the win was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 14-1.

Looking ahead, White Oak will challenge New Bern at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for D.H. Conley, they have already played their next match, a 3-0 victory against Laney on the 26th.
