Baseball Game Preview: Fairfield Prep Jesuits vs. Hamden Dragons

The Fairfield Prep Jesuits will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on the Hamden Dragons at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.

Hamden will challenge a team with plenty of momentum: Fairfield Prep extended their winning streak to three on Friday. Everything went the Jesuits' way against Notre Dame Prep as they made off with a 10-3 win. The result was nothing new for the Jesuits, who have now won four matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.

Jack Nolan and Nick Garofalo did most of the damage at the plate: Nolan went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI, while Garofalo went 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most doubles Nolan has posted since back in May of 2025. The team also got some help courtesy of Dan DeLibro, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Fairfield Prep kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in four consecutive games.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Hamden, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They never let Hillhouse get on the board and left with an 11-0 victory on Friday. Considering the Dragons' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Fairfield Prep's win bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Hamden, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.

Fairfield Prep beat Hamden 5-1 in their previous meeting back in May of 2025. Do the Jesuits have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Dragons turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
