Softball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Rehoboth Christian

Rehoboth Christian entered their tilt with Hozho Academy on Thursday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They blew past the Wolves 14-2. The result was nothing new for the Lynx, who have now won ten contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Taylen Esalio made a big impact no matter where she played. She struck out nine batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs and one stolen base.

In other batting news, Rehoboth Christian let Sage West and Deiyanera Franklin run wild. West went a perfect 4-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple, while Franklin went 2-for-3 with six RBI, one triple, and one run. That's the most hits West has posted over her last ten matches. Faith Vicente was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two stolen bases, and two runs.

Rehoboth Christian always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .643. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Rehoboth Christian's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-7. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.3 runs over those games. As for Hozho Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 15-5.

Looking ahead, Rehoboth Christian will head out to take on Navajo Pine at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Warriors have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 15.69 runs per game on average), something the Lynx will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Hozho Academy, they will look to defend their home field on Saturday against Hope Christian at 11:00 a.m.
