Baseball Recap: Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake had to endure an 11-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They never let the Schenectady Patriots get on the board and left with a 7-0 victory on Monday. The Spartans have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Patriots, too.

The team relied heavily on Ricky Nicklas, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Those two runs gave him a new career-high. Anthony Renaud also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.

Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake picked up their first road win, bumping their record up to 2-14. As for Schenectady, they dropped their record down to 0-12 with the defeat, which was their eighth straight at home.

Coming up, Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake will welcome Albany at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The Spartans are facing the Falcons at the right time seeing as the Falcons are stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Schenectady, they will venture away from home to challenge Mohonasen at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
