Basketball Recap: Calvary Day Takes a Loss

Calvary Day was the 55-47 winner over Benedictine when they last played one another back in December of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. The Calvary Day Cavaliers took a 67-62 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Benedictine Cadets.

Benedictine's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Caleb Jones, who went 11 for 20 on his way to 32 points and five rebounds. The game was Jones' 40th in a row with at least ten points. Micah Williams was another key player, going 6 of 14 on his way to 19 points.

Calvary Day's defeat dropped their record down to 8-5. As for Benedictine, their win was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 13-2.

Calvary Day and Benedictine should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Georgia Rankings. Calvary Day (ranked 76th) will meet Johnson (ranked 305th) at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Benedictine (ranked 40th) will meet New Hampstead (ranked 173rd) at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
