Basketball Game Preview: Calais Blue Devils vs. Penobscot Valley Howlers

The Calais Blue Devils will square off against the Penobscot Valley Howlers at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Penobscot Valley took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Calais, who comes in off a win.

Calais will head into Monday's game hoping to keep the good times rolling: they proved they can win big on Friday (they won by 24) and on Monday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Lee Academy 53-50.

Meanwhile, Penobscot Valley was beaten by Schenck 56-21 on Wednesday. The contest marked the Howlers' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Calais' victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-4. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.3 points per game. As for Penobscot Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 3-7.
