Baseball Recap: Viewmont Victorious

Viewmont won the last time they faced Woods Cross and things went their way on Monday too. The Vikings walked away with a 7-3 victory over the Wildcats. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Vikings.

The team relied heavily on Kade Marriott, who went 1-for-5 with three RBI, one run, and one double. He has become a key player for Viewmont: the team is undefeated when he posts at least three RBI, but 8-9 otherwise. Gehrig Lee was another key player, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with one run and one RBI.

Viewmont's record now sits at 12-9. As for Woods Cross, their defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-9.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Viewmont will square off against Bountiful at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The RedHawks will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Vikings surely won't give up without a fight. As for Woods Cross, they will face off against Northridge at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
