Preview: Eisenhower Eagles vs. Benjamin Davis Falcons
The Eisenhower Eagles will head out on the road to face off against the Benjamin Davis Falcons at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Eisenhower is hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses.
Eisenhower fell victim to Westfield's stalwart defense on Thursday and couldn't make it onto the board. They were beaten by the Mustangs 28-0. While losing is never fun, Eisenhower can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 501st, while Westfield is ranked 113th).
Meanwhile, Benjamin Davis' recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. The contest between Benjamin Davis and Nimitz wasn't particularly close, with Benjamin Davis falling 42-28.
Benjamin Davis' loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Kamryn Jackson, who rushed for 184 yards and two touchdowns on only 12 carries, and Nicholas Tramble who rushed for 100 yards and two touchdowns on only 11 carries. Jackson was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 66 yards.
The losses dropped Eisenhower to 2-5 and Benjamin Davis to 3-4.
Everything came up roses for Eisenhower against Benjamin Davis when the teams last played back in October of 2022 as the team secured a 46-17 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Eisenhower since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
