Football Recap: Manatee Skates Past Braden River with Ease

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Manatee). They blew past the Braden River Pirates 55-20 on Friday. The Hurricanes haven't had any issues with the Pirates recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Manatee's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Caedon White, who rushed for 91 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only ten carries. White also punched in two rushing touchdowns, which is notable because the Hurricanes are 2-1 when he posts at least two rushing touchdowns, but 2-4 otherwise. Mason Summer was another key signal caller, throwing for 202 yards and two TDs while completing 87.5% of his passes.

Manatee's defense stepped up as well, laying out Louisen Desinor four times. That dominant display was truly a team effort as four different players picked up one apiece. Manatee received some extra help from Jordyn Lowery, whose fumble return for a touchdown made for one of the most unforgettable moments.

Manatee's record is now 4-5. As for Braden River, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-6.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Manatee will take on Riverview Sarasota at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Braden River, they will challenge George Jenkins at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
