Preview: NCSSM: Durham Unicorns vs. Research Triangle Raptors
NCSSM: Durham is 9-0 against Research Triangle since November of 2014, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Wednesday. The NCSSM: Durham Unicorns will head out on the road to face off against the Research Triangle Raptors at 6:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (NCSSM: Durham has three straight wins, Research Triangle has six straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Last Tuesday, NCSSM: Durham didn't have too much trouble with Franklin Academy at home as they won 45-29.
NCSSM: Durham relied on the efforts of Parker Wildman, who scored 13 points along with two steals, and Maren Donlon, who scored 18 points along with seven rebounds. Donlon is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 15 or more in the last six games she's played.
Meanwhile, Research Triangle lost to East Wake Academy at home by a decisive 53-34 margin on Saturday.
NCSSM: Durham's win bumped their record up to 10-7. As for Research Triangle, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost eight of their last nine matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-10 record this season.
Everything came up roses for NCSSM: Durham against Research Triangle in their previous matchup back in January as the team secured a 58-16 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for NCSSM: Durham since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
