Baseball Game Preview: West Bend East Suns vs. Nicolet Knights

The West Bend East Suns will square off against the Nicolet Knights at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. West Bend East is coming into the matchup on a five-game losing streak.

For some reason, the away team has come away with the win the last four times West Bend East and Whitefish Bay have met, but the home crowd finally got their W on Wednesday. The Suns fell just short of the Blue Dukes by a score of 5-4.

Cedarburg hit Nicolet with a six-run first inning on Wednesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Knights fell 7-2 to the Bulldogs. The Knights' loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

James Wirth put in work while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched 5.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.
