Volleyball Recap: Calvary Beats Mt. Olive for Their Fifth Straight Win

Calvary entered their tilt with Mt. Olive on Saturday with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. They came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Wildcats. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 2-0 on September 2nd.

Calvary had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. The final score came out to 23-25, 25-11, 15-7.

Ainsley Johnson paced Calvary's offense, picking up 14 kills. Johnson got some help from Sophia McQuillan and her 16 assists. Elesha Levine and Nevaeh McQuillan kept things locked in from the service line: the pair finished with four aces apiece.

Calvary's win bumped their record up to 9-2. As for Mt. Olive, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-8.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Calvary will face off against rival Pawnee at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Mt. Olive is set to take on their familiar foe Nokomis at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
