Recap: Lakota West Firebirds vs. Lakota East Thunderhawks
After a string of eight wins, the Lakota West Firebirds's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They took a 51-38 hit to the loss column at the hands of Lakota East. Lakota West has struggled against Lakota East recently, as their match on Saturday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Katlyn Pham had an outrageously good game for Lakota East as she scored 22 points. That's the first time this season that Pham scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Brooke Asher, who scored 13 points along with two steals.
Lakota West's defeat dropped their record down to 13-4. As for Lakota East, they have been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lakota West will challenge Hamilton at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Hamilton will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings (they are ranked 554th, while Lakota West is ranked 37th). As for Lakota East, they will head out on the road to take on Sycamore at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Sycamore is coming into the match on a four-game losing streak.
