Softball Game Preview: Caldwell Hornets vs. Holland Hornets

We've got a battle between Hornets coming up. The two teams are strolling into their matchups after big wins in their previous games.

Caldwell's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They put the hurt on Granger with a sharp 6-0 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Hornets.

Jaelyn Gest was excellent, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in RBI (three). Another player making a difference was Molly Meadows, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

While Holland didn't have the best season last year (they finished 3-12), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. Everything went their way against Florence on Friday as Holland made off with a 7-1 victory. The result was nothing new for the Hornets, who have now won seven contests by six runs or more so far this season.

The win was the third in a row for Holland, bringing their record for this year to 9-3. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 7.3 runs. As for Caldwell, their victory bumped their record up to 4-6-1.
