The St. Johns Country Day Spartans will head out on the road to challenge the Providence School Stallions at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. St. Johns Country Day will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last.
Last Wednesday, St. Johns Country Day was able to grind out a solid win over Oakleaf, taking the game 11-7.
St. Johns Country Day got a great performance from Madden Williams as he struck out seven batters over 4.2 innings while giving up three earned runs off seven hits (and only one walk). Those seven strikeouts gave Williams a new career-high.

On the hitting side, Brayden Harris was a standout: he scored two runs while going 2-for-3. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (two). Jonas Wells was another key player, scoring a run while going 3-for-4.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Providence School). They came out on top against Episcopal School of Jacksonville by a score of 11-8 on Thursday. The victory was some much needed relief for the Stallions as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.
Luke Manderson and Jake Cotner did most of the damage at the plate: Manderson went 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI, while Cotner scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-2. Another player making a difference was Brody Kraft, who scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.
St. Johns Country Day's record now sits at 12-6. As for Providence School, their record is now 12-7.
Providence School's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: St. Johns Country Day hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .314. It's a different story for Providence School, though, as they've only averaged .251. Will they be able to contain St. Johns Country Day's hitters?
St. Johns Country Day skirted past Providence School 2-1 in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for St. Johns Country Day since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
