Eastern Coteau (9 Man) recap Oct. 23, 2012

Great Plains Lutheran's Phil Bunkowske recorded the longest rushing play in Eastern Coteau (9 Man) this season in his game against Tri-State co-op [Rosholt/Fairmount/Campbell-Tintah] last week. Bunkowske scampered for 74 yards on the play and finished with 63 on the day as his team fell to the Tigers.

Clark/Willow Lake extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Waubay/Summit, 56-6. This was the team's seventh consecutive win.

Wilmot's dynamic duo of Austin Hulscher and Landon Hammer proved tough for Hamlin to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Hulscher threw for 108 yards and one touchdown and Hammer had 61 yards receiving. Chase Bronson helped Wilmot's passing attack out by catching two balls for 36 yards.

Alex Holzwarth made the biggest impact on defense this week as the Chargers bested the Wolves. The 6-foot-1 junior recorded two fumbles and grabbed two sacks.

Dexter Lick was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 266 yards on 20 carries as Tri-State co-op [Rosholt/Fairmount/Campbell-Tintah] lost to Hamlin. Teammate Seth Moore added to the ground attack by rushing for 66 yards.

Larry Hulscher's team's Hulscher and Hammer have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading Eastern Coteau (9 Man) in both passing and receiving yards. Hulscher has thrown for 1637 yards this season, while Hammer, a 6-foot-1 receiver, has 44 catches for 949 yards. Dustin Quiram from Jeff Sheehan's team leads the league in rushing with 1105 yards.
