Recap: Waterford Wildcats vs. Denair Coyotes
After flying high against the Gustine Reds last Friday, the Waterford Wildcats came back down to earth. Waterford fell 58-48 to Denair on Tuesday. Waterford has struggled against Denair recently, as their contest on Tuesday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the loss, Waterford had strong showings from Izaiah Sanchez, who scored 16 points, and Christian Gayle, who scored 16 points. That's the first time this season that Sanchez scored 15 or more points. Santiago Hernandez was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Waterford's defeat was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 9-12. As for Denair, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a massive bump to their 9-11 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Waterford will take on Mariposa County at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Denair, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on Delhi at 7:30 p.m. on January 19th.
