Softball Recap: Brownsburg Bulldogs vs. Danville Warriors
It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Brownsburg ultimately got the result they hoped for on Wednesday. They skirted past the Danville Warriors 8-7. The Bulldogs have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Warriors, too.
Etta Schroering spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered six earned (and one unearned) runs on four hits and racked up 15 Ks.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Jocelyn Hornett, who went 4-for-5 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Delaney McInerney, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and one stolen base.
Brownsburg moved to 17-8 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Danville, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 17-7 record this season.
Brownsburg will head out to take on Fishers at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Danville, they will take on Frankfort at 2:00 p.m. on Monday.
