Baseball Recap: Aliso Niguel's Win on Saturday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Aliso Niguel had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Saturday. They never let the Canyon Springs Cougars get on the board and left with a 7-0 victory. The Wolverines might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matchups by six runs or more this season.

Jack Wiesman looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits.

On the hitting side, Cooper Flemming was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Carson Etnire, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Aliso Niguel was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .379. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Canyon Springs only posted a batting average of .091.

Aliso Niguel's record now sits at 10-3. As for Canyon Springs, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-7.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Aliso Niguel will head out to take on Trabuco Hills at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Aliso Niguel 2.1, Trabuco Hills 1.3) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Canyon Springs, they are taking a road trip to challenge Montclair at 11:00 a.m. on Monday. Canyon Springs is facing Montclair at the right time seeing as Montclair is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
