Basketball Recap: Springdale Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Springdale fought the good fight in their overtime game against Bentworth on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Bearcats by a score of 45-42. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Dynamos of the 70-58 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in January.

Bentworth's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ben Hays led the charge by putting up 22 points and eight boards. Hays is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in each of the last five games he's played. Another player making a difference was Ryan Moessner, who posted 11 points and eight rebounds.

Springdale dropped their record down to 2-4 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Bentworth, their record now sits at 4-2.

Looking ahead, Springdale and Perry Traditional Academy will face off at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday without much rest, having both just played. The Dynamos will be up against the Commodores' rather soft defense (which has allowed 62.5 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Bentworth, they will head out on the road to take on Greensburg Central Catholic at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
