Homestead and Carroll are an even 5-5 against one another since May of 2022, but likely not for long. The Spartans will square off against the Chargers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Homestead is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7 runs per game this season.

Homestead is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Fort Wayne Snider just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Saturday. They took an 8-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Panthers.

Aiden Phillips made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 4-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Shane Bardwell was another key player, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases.

Meanwhile, Carroll was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They came up short against Penn, falling 15-8.

Jaxon Sparks was cooking despite his team's loss, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. He has become a key player for Carroll: the team is 6-3 when he posts at least two runs, but 4-7 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Carter Irons, who went 2-for-4 with two runs.

Carroll's loss dropped their record down to 10-10. As for Homestead, the defeat was their first at home , dropping their record down to 16-3.

Homestead skirted past Carroll 5-3 when the teams last played on Monday. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Spartans since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
