Basketball Recap: Wise Takes a Loss

Wise lost against Eleanor Roosevelt back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Wise Pumas received a blow as they fell 62-43 to the Eleanor Roosevelt Raiders.

Eleanor Roosevelt can attribute much of their success to Sakairah Sterling, who went 7 of 8 en route to 18 points and three steals. Camille Brandon was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on nine points and ten assists.

Wise's defeat was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Eleanor Roosevelt, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 8-6.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Wise and Flowers will face off at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday without much rest having both just played. Flowers knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past eight games -- so hopefully Wise likes a good challenge. As for Eleanor Roosevelt, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Bladensburg at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
