Softball Game Preview: Moorpark Musketeers vs. Saint Joseph Jesters

The Moorpark Musketeers will head out to take on the Saint Joseph Jesters at 3:15 p.m. on Saturday. Moorpark will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.

Moorpark is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They walked away with a 5-1 win over Long Beach Poly.

Moorpark got a great performance from Kiley Finnerty as she didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched.

At the plate, Payton Holliday was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI. That double was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Brooke Toledo, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

Aliso Niguel typically has all the answers at home, but on Thursday Saint Joseph proved too difficult a challenge. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Wolverines a 4-0 shutout.

Not much got past Camila Quiroz, who gave up just two hits to keep Aliso Niguel off the board.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Mariah Becerra, who went 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Jazmine Medrano, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

Moorpark's record is now 12-8. As for Saint Joseph, their record now sits at 20-7.
