Baseball Game Preview: Wagoner Bulldogs vs. Vinita Hornets

The Wagoner Bulldogs will head out on the road to face off against the Vinita Hornets at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Wagoner has given up an average of 7.3 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Fans were treated to a battle of the Bulldogs on Friday. Wagoner came up short against Lincoln Christian, falling 13-5. Wagoner's loss signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

Kale Charboneau and Judd Edwards stepped up to the plate in a big way. Charboneau went 2-for-3 with one triple and one run, while Edwards scored a run while going 2-for-2. That's the most hits Charboneau has posted since back in April of 2024.

Meanwhile, Vinita posted their closest victory since March 18, 2024 on Saturday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-3 win over Glenpool.

Wagoner's defeat dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Vinita, their victory ended a seven-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-6.

Wagoner took their win against Vinita when the teams last played back in April of 2019 by a conclusive 9-2. Will Wagoner repeat their success, or does Vinita has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
