Volleyball Recap: Macarthur Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for MacArthur, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They came out on top against the DeLand-Weldon Eagles by a score of 2-0 on Monday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Generals also won the last time the pair played back in September of 2023.

MacArthur not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept DeLand-Weldon to exactly 20 points across their sets. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 25-20.

DeLand-Weldon's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Makenna Woods, who had six kills, five digs, and two blocks, and Addison Roos, who had four digs and two aces. Woods is on a roll when it comes to kills, as she's now had five or more in each of the last three games she's played.

MacArthur's win bumped their record up to 6-11. As for DeLand-Weldon, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-12 record this season.

MacArthur will take on Jacksonville at 7:00 p.m. on the 30th. As for DeLand-Weldon, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-1 loss against Lowpoint-Washburn on the 23rd.
