Upsala extended their winning streak to five games thanks to a huge performance from Jack Primus. The Upsala Cardinals put the hurt on the Pine River-Backus Tigers with a sharp 65-39 victory on Saturday thanks to Primus, who went 11-for-25 on his way to 24 points in addition to eight rebounds and eight steals. The contest was his sixth in a row with at least 18 points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Beau Ripplinger, who posted four points along with six boards and four steals. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in steals.

Upsala pushed their record up to 16-5 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.8 points over those games. As for Pine River-Backus, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last eight games, which has put a noticeable dent in their 11-12 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Upsala will venture away from home to take on Long Prairie-Grey Eagle at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Upsala's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last six matchups. As for Pine River-Backus, they will head out on the road to square off against Blackduck at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
