Basketball Recap: Marshall Rams vs. Brennan Bears

Marshall was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They had to suffer through a 123-39 loss at the hands of the Brennan Bears. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Rams this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 108-46 back in December of 2024.

Marshall lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Liam Curry, who went 5 of 7 on his way to 14 points. Another player making a difference was Jason Vidaurri, who posted 11 points in addition to seven assists and five boards.

Brennan's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kingston Flemings led the charge by dropping a double-double on 17 points and ten assists. Flemings' evening made it eight games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaiah Ward, who went 9 for 14 en route to 18 points along with eight rebounds and seven assists.

Marshall's loss dropped their record down to 11-20. As for Brennan, they pushed their record up to 25-2 with the win, which was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season.

Marshall will welcome O'Connor at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Marshall is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 56.5 points per game this season. Brennan has already played their next game (against Holmes), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
