Baseball Game Preview: Gilbert Classical Academy Spartans vs. Miami Vandals

The Gilbert Classical Academy Spartans will take on the Miami Vandals at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for Gilbert Classical Academy and eight for Miami.

Wednesday just wasn't the day for Gilbert Classical Academy's offense. They lost 17-0 to San Tan Charter on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Miami came up short against Globe on Wednesday, falling 20-3.

Miami saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cooper Gore, who went 1-for-2 with three RBI and one triple. Those three RBI gave Gore a new career-high. Ethan Guthrey also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Gilbert Classical Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4-1. As for Miami, their loss dropped their record down to 1-10.

Gilbert Classical Academy took their win against Miami when the teams last played back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 11-1. Will Gilbert Classical Academy repeat their success, or does Miami has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
