Preview: Creekside Seminoles vs. Jefferson Dragons

Creekside is on a six-game streak of home wins, while Jefferson is on a nine-game streak of away wins (dating back to last season): one of those streaks is about to end. The Creekside Seminoles will take on the Jefferson Dragons at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Creekside had already proven themselves in the regular season, and didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They blew past Warner Robins 35-14. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as Creekside just coasted through the last quarter.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Creekside to victory, but perhaps none more so than Shane Kelley, who picked up 130 receiving yards and three touchdowns. The team also got some help courtesy of Vinson Berry, who threw for 266 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 11.1 yards per attempt.

Meanwhile, Jefferson's offense rose to the challenge against a Tigers defense that boasted an average of only 15.69 points allowed. Jefferson put the hurt on Harris County with a sharp 35-12 win on Friday. Given Jefferson's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia football rankings (they are ranked 20th, while Harris County is ranked 71st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Sammy Brown continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 259 yards and four touchdowns.

Their wins bumped Creekside to 12-1 and Warner Robins to 9-4.

Keep an eye on the end zone in Friday's game as Creekside and Jefferson haven't had much trouble getting there this season. Creekside commands a daunting offense this season, having averaged 5.8 touchdowns per game. However, it's not like Jefferson struggles in that department as they've been averaging 5.6 per game. With these two high-octane teams facing off on Friday, fans should be in for an exciting offensive matchup. Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more football content.
