            Softball Preview: Barberton Magics vs. Copley Indians        
        
		
        
        
            Barberton is 0-6 against Copley since March of 2021 but things could change  on Thursday. The Magics will be playing at home against the Indians  at 5:00  p.m. Copley took a loss in their last  contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Barberton, who comes in off a win.
Barberton took a seven-run  defeat the last time they faced off against Roosevelt, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Magics came out on top in a nail-biter against the Rough Riders on Wednesday, sneaking past  5-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest  win the Magics have posted  since March 15, 2024.
 Cassie Moore made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she  struck out seven batters over  six innings while giving up just two earned  (and two unearned) runs off   five  hits. Those  hits were  her first of the season. She was also solid in the batter's box,  scoring two  runs and  stealing a base while going 3-for-4. That's the most  hits  she has posted since back in April of 2024.
 In other batting news,  Natalie Snider was  incredible,  scoring two  runs and  stealing a base while going 3-for-3.  Layla Murrey also deserves some recognition as  she  snagged her first  stolen base of the season.
 Meanwhile, Copley lost  16-6 to Aurora on Wednesday. The  loss   continues a  trend for the Indians in their meetings with the Greenmen: they've now lost six in a row.
 Barberton's victory  ended  an  eight-game drought on the road  dating back to last season and  puts them at 4-5. As for Copley, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-9.
 Barberton suffered a grim  18-6 defeat to Copley  when the teams last played  back in April of 2024. Can the Magics avenge their  loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
