Baseball Game Preview: Fork Union Military Academy Blue Devils vs. Trinity Episcopal Titans

Fork Union Military Academy is preparing for their first region matchup of the season on Tuesday. They will square off against the Trinity Episcopal Titans at 4:00 p.m. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Fork Union Military Academy has struggled recently with 16 defeats in a row, while Trinity Episcopal will arrive with four straight wins.

Fork Union Military Academy fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Christchurch School on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Seahorses by a score of 3-2.

Fork Union Military Academy saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kaleb Wasden, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Meanwhile, Trinity Episcopal won against Benedictine on Tuesday with six runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Friday. The Titans' pitchers stepped up to hand Fredericksburg Christian a 6-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Titans, who have now won four matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Owen Giesen looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. What's more, he posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in May of 2024.

At the plate, Taegan Logan was excellent, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 1-for-3. Cole Hartley also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Trinity Episcopal hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Fredericksburg Christian struck out eight times.

Fork Union Military Academy's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Trinity Episcopal, their record is now 7-1.

Fork Union Military Academy suffered a grim 15-2 defeat to Trinity Episcopal in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can the Blue Devils avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
