Softball Game Preview: Rivercrest Rebels vs. Bowie Pirates

The Rivercrest Rebels are taking a road trip to square off against the Bowie Pirates at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.

Rivercrest barely beat Maud the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Rivercrest was the clear victor by a 17-7 margin over Maud on Friday. The Rebels' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Meanwhile, Bowie got the win against Harts Bluff on Friday by a conclusive 13-1. The victory continues a trend for the Pirates in their matchups with the Bulldogs: they've now won six in a row.

Abigail Dial was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, six RBI, and two runs. Those six RBI gave her a new career-high. Adaline Holt was another key player, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.

Rivercrest is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 6-6 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.4 runs over those games. Bowie's victory bumped their record up to 5-6.

Rivercrest suffered a grim 12-5 defeat to Bowie when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can Rivercrest avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
