Basketball Recap: Cripple Creek-Victor Takes a Loss

Cripple Creek-Victor played a tough contest on Saturday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt a 54-10 loss at the hands of the Florence Huskies. The Pioneers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 33-6.

Rylee May was Cripple Creek-Victor's leading scorer, having posted three points. Savannah Mead held things down on the boards with six rebounds.

Florence's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kaydence Martinez, who posted 16 points. Annabelle Reese was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on ten points and nine steals.

This is the second loss in a row for Cripple Creek-Victor and nudges their season record down to 4-10. As for Florence, their victory bumped their record up to 6-10.

Coming up, Cripple Creek-Victor will take on Lotus School For Excellence at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Florence, they will face off against Custer County on Tuesday.
