Soccer Game Preview: Grace Christian vs. Soldotna

Grace Christian is 1-8-1 against Soldotna since May of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Grizzlies will host the Stars at 7:00 p.m.

Grace Christian is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Alaska's top teams: Homer, who was ranked 16th at the time (Grace Christian was ranked 17th). The Grizzlies fell just short of the Mariners by a score of 3-2 on Thursday.

Meanwhile, for the first time this season, Soldotna was forced to settle for a draw. Neither they nor Palmer could gain the upper hand on Thursday so the two teams had to settle for a 1-1 draw.

Soldotna's goal came courtesy of Daniel Heath, who's now up to ten this season.

With that draw, Soldotna's record moves to 9-4-1. As for Grace Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 4-7-2.

Grace Christian suffered a grim 6-2 defeat to Soldotna in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Can the Grizzlies avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
