Soccer Recap: Meridian Takes a Loss

Meridian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 11th straight loss. They lost 8-1 to the Petal Panthers. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi soccer rankings (they are ranked 127th, while the Panthers are ranked 11th).

Meridian's defeat dropped their record down to 2-13. As for Petal, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 12-2.

Meridian will venture away from home to take on Brandon at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Petal, they will head out on the road to square off against Oak Grove at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
